Monkstown Oil Buying Scheme
Started at the beginning of June 2014, Monkstown’s Oil Buying Scheme has continued serving the local community, on a monthly basis, and to date has made total savings to members of over ¬£25,000. Orders are taken from members at the end of each month, a competitive price sought from suppliers and deliveries following usually within a week. Membership of the Oil Scheme currently stands at just under 100. The Scheme has membership fee of ¬£5 per year which caters for the administration of the scheme. The scheme was originally part of a pilot project administrated by Monkstown Community Forum and funded by Newtownabbey and Antrim Borough Councils and PHA. For further information please contact the Scheme Co-ordinator, Norma Johnston by calling 07972253335 (Oil Club number), by emailing or by ¬†visiting Monkstown Village Centre to collect a membership form.

Monkstown iNews
Monkstown’s iNews, has been produced every four months, at the end of February, June and October, since its first issue in 2008. Monkstown, like many other communities, has suffered from a lack of cohesion and communication. The newsletter, produced and delivered by Monkstown Community Forum and printed by the NI Housing Executive, aims to provide the opportunity for local/community events/activities/programmes/information to be publicised, either before and/or after.
